I think that you have done well to explain the differences between the narrator and John and Sylvia. I like how you expressed that they are hoping to escape technology but don not care about the process itself. I think that one thing that you could perhaps add to the discussion is the topic of the actual motorcycle maintenance which could in part represent the journey itself. John wanted nothing to do with maintaining his motorcycle because that would mean more time spent on the journey and less at the destination. It also would mean focusing on what he wanted to avoid. Overall I think you are on a good track and started out well.
